What Does Pain On The Left Side Of The Waist Indicate?

My mom is experiencing pain on her left waistline. She is also having chills. Otherwise she feels okay. She is 71 in good health but has a history of kidney stones in both kidneys. on a scale of 1 to 10, her pain is a 10. It was hurting earlier in the week but subsided until today. Should she be concerned?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of renal colick (pain due to renal stone) is more likely.
Possibly her renal stone might have traveled down in ureter and got stuck there.
This causes local inflammation and irritation and this in turn causes pain, chills, blood in urine etc.
So better to consult urologist and get done ultrasound examination of KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder).
She may need endoscopic stone removal.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your mother. Thanks.
