Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Pain On The Right Side Of The Chest Indicate?
I have a moderate pain i can relate to thinking it is in my right lung or something in that area upper right of my back. It is a constant pain i feel every time i take a breath, and is more relevant when i am lying down to sleep. It bothers me so much I am trying to find out what it is that causes this. I have seen many chiropractors a minimum of 2 a week. Sometimes as much as 5 times a week and have come to not getting relief from any. I have been on a pain management program in the past for injuries in a motorcycle accident but have not be using them in constant for about two years. This problem is something i have had issues with not pertaining to my previous injuries. I am scared that i may have something else seriously wrong and need to find clarity and comfort. Please help me.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello,
Your pain can be from vertebral column injury or rib injury during the operation causing nerve damage supplying the painful part/Muscular. Calcium Deficiency, muscle pull as a neurogenic sign/involvement of lung tissue or it is covering (Pleura).
You should get x-ray of chest P/A view & lateral view. This will reveal the cause, followed by other needful investigations & specific treatment. Please consult a physician or orthopedic surgeon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
