What Does Pain Under The Rib Cage On The Left Side Indicate?

Yesterday I woke up with a pain on my left side under my rib cage. I walked downtown (an easy walk for me) and I had a dizziness spell, after which I had chest pains (not sharp, felt a bit like gas) for the next 8 hours. My heart rate is sort of racy, and I find I am not able to eat a lot.
