What Does Painful Prickly Sensation All Over The Body Indicate?

Hi! HELP!! In medical field for over 30 years and I m not getting anywhere with my research. PCP hasn t been able to dx my symptoms which are interfering with daily living and sleep. New Rheumatologist is not familiar with my symptoms and is not comfortable managing me, therefore, in search of a well-seasoned MD who is current with literature. I am a 54 y/o female presenting with chronic, painful, prickly sensation over entire body, worse in the legs. At times it is associated with puritis. No jaundice or dermatitis. H/O Psoriatic Arthritis, Deg. Arth. affecting all joints and Fibromyalgia x20 years. Also, Tachyarrythmia (150 bpm) with Pericardial Eff mild-mod, (no change in 6 mos) of unknown etiology. Labs incl. LFTs, HA1C were neg., WBC,Sed are usually mild-mod elevated (esp w/flares). Lupus antibodies neg. past surg hx includes: BTHR, two spinal fusions, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, Lap Band, Rt rotator cuff surgery, C-section. Currently, chronic back pain, chronic Lt shoulder tear and a 2nd mod sized new tear, nerve compression in C-spine with degen arthritis. I currently take Gabapentin, Cymbalta, Lopressor (for tachyarrythmia), Synthroid, Lipitor, and Trazadone for sleep. I ve been on these meds for years. I am desperate to figure out why I suffer from this painful, prickly sensation. Nothing seems to help. Thank you in advance for your opinion! Sincerely Lisa

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can take Aceclofenac and Paracetamol tab twice a day for 5 days. You can take Rabeprazole tab twice a day for 5 days. Apply Diclofenac spray on affected site. Apply warm water bag on affected site. If not resolved then consult your orthopedic surgeon. Do X-ray of affected part and do physiotherapy, it is also helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
