What Does Palpitations After Pacemaker Implantation Indicate?

I ve had a St. Jude Pacemaker since 6 November 07 and for past 25 minutes my heart has been beating more violently than usual, almost a flutter. I have experienced this briefly occasionally in past but never this prolonged. Battery life checked about 3 months ago and retained approximately 2 years viability. Have drunk no alcohol in past 48 hours but was within 4-5 feet of a 5kw generator for a few minutes about 8 hours ago. No changes in medicines. Should I be concerned about prolonged, more- violent heartbeat? Pulse seems normal 60. Am 71 years old. Thanks

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is history of pacemaker placed and have some symptoms then it is better to get done the EKG test because this is the only test that could tell us what is wrong with the heart or is it alright, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
