What Does Persistent Brown Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

Hi. I have had chronic brown vaginal discharge for almost a month and a half now. No other symptoms accompany it. It went away while I had my period and was gone for about a week after I finished my period and then came back. What do you think this could be? I just find it annoying and would like to know what I should do about it

Hello,

Are you talking any oral contraceptives? possible causes are like a normal variant in which blood may stayed in uterus more time and oxidised and appear like this. It may be due to polyps or fibroid uterus or dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

It may be side effects of oral contraceptives or hormonal changes in your body or due to hypothyroidism etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. please get it done ultrasound abdomen and thyroid status. Please consult with your gynecologist she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
