What Does Persistent Fever After Appendectomy Indicate?

My 30-year-old daughter had an emergency appendectomy 10 days ago. On day 2 of her recovery she experienced a one time discharge of yellow, somewhat thick fluid. She has been experiencing a fever for 7 days and cannot convince the surgeon to return her calls. She was able to see her primary care physician and has been put on a very large dose of augmentin. She was fever free for 24 hours and it has returned. The surgeon finally returned her call and said this was textbook post-op small abscess. What do you think?

Hello. This does sound like an abscess situation, but she needs a ct scan of the abdomen to see if it needs to be drained.
