Hi, I m 12 weeks pregnant. I had three urine analysis in the past two weeks and the result is showing that I have trace hemoglobin in the urine. My doctor told me there s no infection. Then, What does that mean. What cause it and will it harm my baby? I did some research and found that it can be some kind of disease? Please help! Thank you!

Dear patient, trace hemoglobin can be because of issues in the female genital organs. This need not be an infection. The problem of a few blood cells in your urine also called as trace hematuria, is due to most issues that can never harm a baby. Else your doctor would have said so, right? Keep good hygiene. Avoid antibiotics. Take a repeat test after 3 weeks. Regards, Dr. Neel kudchadkar.
