My partners nose has been bleeding uncontrollably for the past two days. Yesterday it bled twice and today three times. The blood is bright red colour and contains long, thick string type clots. I just want to know whether you’ve heard a condition like this. & if so what should I do?
Hello dear,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern. Some advices that I can give to you are: -Stay calm. If he start to get nervous, it can actually make him bleed more. -Keep the head above your heart. -Lean a little bit forward. -Pinch the nostrils closed for 5 min -Once the bleeding has stopped, do not touch or blow the nose.He can also spray a decongestant such as oxymetazoline (Afrin, Vicks Sinex or Mucinex) in both nostrils -Keep the inside of your nose moist. -Use a saline nasal product. -Use a humidifier.
