What Does Prolactin Result Of 4700 And MRI Scans One With Contrast Signify While Having History Of Pit Tumor?

Hi, I have had a pit tumour in the past now resolved but after having a prolactin result of 4700 I have in the last 2 months had 2 MRI scans one with contrast. I don t get my results until late January so am I right in presuming my tumour has returned?

Thank you for asking!
Usually prolactin increase of more than 200 is diagnostic for pituitary for macroadenomas. In your case of extreme rise of 4700 looks probably the recurrence of the tumor. But lets wait for the radiologic work up before we label that.Stay in touch with your neurologist as a complete clinical correlation is advised.
take care
