What Does Prolonged Cough Imply?

hello doctor, had a cough for the past 4years. but it seems to be aggreviated by greasy food and diary products. i have been treated for acid reflux 3 times so it not that,had a blood count done,a sputum test done for bacterial growth,and 4xrays. my chest feels tight most of the times and when i cough i feel like i am going to pass out. can you please help me? thank you so much.

Chronic cough is most commonly associated with : post nasal drip, asthma and gerd.

Post nasal drip is the most common reason but it is not normally caused by dairy products and greasy food unless you are allergic to them and the drip would be part of the allergic response.

The cough due to GERD would be aggravated by these foods so though you may be previously treated, it is possible that this is the cause and medication may need to be restarted.
