What Does Prolonged Feeling Of Nausea After Stillbirth Indicate?

Hi Doctors,
I had an abortion 3 months ago (september 26, 2013). The procedure was done "naturally" by natural birth etc. meaning i had gone through labour and given birth to a still born baby. Everything went as planned - no fever, etc.

Anyway, throughout the entire 3 months following the abortion, i always feel the need to vomit, after eating especially. The need to burp & without burping, i have a strong urge to vomit. But nothing ever comes out.

I had my normal period throughout these 3 months following the abortion. But why do i FEEL the need to vomit?

Many thanks!

Hello,
The nausea you experience is more likely to be related to some gastritis as it is also associated with the need to burp. The persistence of pregnancy hormones can cause some symptoms of early pregnancy, but, this rise of hormone level declines within a month of the abortion. Any persistence after this period should be viewed with caution. Please see a physician and if nothing is found, get a serum beta-hCG titre estimate. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
