Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having some abdominal/pelvic pain. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound and the only thing they said they saw was a 3 cm prominent Cervical cuff . I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago and also had my cervix removed but not my ovaries. What does this prominent cervical cuff mean?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The cracking noise you hear while turning your neck is due to air bubbles popping or tissue or bone edges being rubbed with movement. Though it is suggestive of decreased joint space, it is not risky unless accompanied by pain. Physiotherapy exercises, supplementation with omega three fatty acids help along with calcium and vitamin D for bone strength.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
