What Does Prominent Veins In Upper Arm And Armpit Indicate?
I ve noticed that the veins in my right upper arm and armpit are more prominent than the left arm recently. 6 years ago I had breast cancer in my right breast, I had sentinel node biopsy but all the mod were clear. Should I be worried? I also have pins and needles constantly in my little finger and ring finger of this arm, is this related? I am 44, fit and healthy
Hello and welcome to HCM, Prominent veins on right arm and right armpit, tingling sensation in little and ring finger with previous history of breast cancer needs to be investigated. Tingling and pins & needle sensation on fingers is suggestive of nerve irritation, nerve trauma etc. Prominent veins usually occur in cases of obstruction to veins in upper limb. These signs may not be associated with previous breast cancer however, clinical assessment is required. It is important to assess the other side breast and arm pits tp look for any new growths. Thus, consult your treating surgeon for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
