What Does "bulging Discs At C6 And C7 Level" Suggest On MRI?

Accoridng to the MRI, I have a narrowing of the neural canal in C3,4, and 5 and a bulging disc at C6 and C7 and pushing on the spine. The doctor said the pushing was not enough to be worried about. Is this a common diagnosis? Although steroids got the pain down to manageable levels, i still get the occasional tingling in my left arm and my hands, forearms and feet feel like they are cramping (maybe spasms) quite often. Lots of tension at times in the neck area too. The peak of my pain was 3 and 1/2 months ago when I threw my neck and shoulder out. Possibly and old neck injury at work too. Have been very physically active all my teen and adult life. The PC does not seem to think it necessary to have a neurologist or orthopedist look at me since I have improved somewhat. Is this protocol? 41 years, contractor, 5-10, 160 lbs, otherwise healthy.
