What Does "dominant Follicle Seen In Right Ovary" Mean?

Good Afternoon Mam, I did a sonography now and in the report it is written as
A 18*11 mm size dominant follicle seen in right ovary. Mild probe tenderness noted in para umbilical region
Adv : Clinical coorelation to rule out colitis
What does this mean? Pls. let me know as I am very tensed.

Thanks for writing to HCM

Pain in para umbilical region is most probably due to colitis(intestine infection).However,appendicitis should be ruled out.
You shouldn't be worried about dominant follicle in right ovary.It is normal physiological ovum and dominant follicle takes part in ovulation.
