Yes, I am a 74 year old woman. Developed a rash around my right eye and it turned red. The rash itchies, but no pus. It is drying up with some ointment I ve been using(about a weekI visited with my eye dr. yesterday.....he thought it was possibly shingles and gave me an RX which I started last night. It seems to have help cleared the redness in my eye. My question is how contagious am I at this point. I recently had a stroke and go to re-hab everyday. I don t want to affect anyone else, but if I m Ok to go, would like to do this. I have had my Shingles shot about 4 years ago. Thanks Sharon
If it is dermatitis means non contagious, unless causative is bacteria. Use oral antibiotics with topical steroids may useful. Avoid allergens that causing the infection.
