What Does Retention Cyst In The Right Sphenoid Sinus Mean?

I have had headaches since November. 16 last month and 19 in March. That is when I started keeping track of them. They start in the back of my head anywhere from 1 am to 5 am. They wake me from my sleep. I have had a CT done and all they said is I have a retention cyst in my right sphenoid sinus. They do not mention the calcifications that I saw on the view on the Pineal Gland and the Choroid Plexus. These headaches are very severe. I have Excedrin next to my bed and I have to take it without getting up. I fall back to sleep for about an hour and then it is tolerable that I can get up and go to work. It feels like someone is squeezing the back of my brain when they happen, I don t think this is caused by my sinus. I can breathe fine and I am not congestion. Also I have a very great sense of smell

Hello,

Small retention cyst in sphenoid sinus does not give severe throbbing headache and the reason of the same must be evaluated with the MRI of the brain with contrast. Though congestion features with stuffy nose, minor frontal headache, sneezing and nose blocks are signs of sphenoid sinus cyst.
