What Does Reticular Infiltrate In The Upper Lobe On An X-ray Report Suggest?

base on the result on my xray they seen an reticular infiltrate in my upper lobe. but before that xray result happened I had done an xray in other clinic 3 weeks before then the result was normal.Doc im confused of the different result.I tell the doctor that maybe I go an xray again coz I ve just xray in other clinic but it s normal, but my the latest doctor said no need we do an skin test.Doc any suggestions thank you.

Hi,

You are right if the X-ray was normal 3 weeks back. However, it does not mean that it should be normal now, because infection may occur little then in 3 weeks time. So you may have got some infection recently. If there are signs in your chest which the doctor can hear with his stethoscope, then probably there is no need to do another X-ray.

However, if your chest is ok on examination then we can repeat the X-ray. The skin test is probably done to see for tuberculosis which causes similar X-ray finding.
