Radiologist 's  Response
Hello

Your father's findings may suggests pneumonia(lung parenchymal infection)in basal region of right lung with pleural effusion.
Pleural effusion may be due to reactionary response to infection.
Your father may need clinical correlation, routine investigations and follow up X-rays.
Bacterial infection will respond fast to broad spectrum antibiotics.
If findings persists then it is important to exclude other causes like tuberculosis, carcinoma etc.
Pleural effusion is expected to be absorbed with control of infection.

Get well soon.
Take care
