What Does Salmonella Typhi As Shown On Widal Report Indicate?
My husband had a fever of 100.8deg and went through a bllod test; the widal report as below
WIDAL Positive 1:80 and above (dil)
Salmonella Thphi "O" 1:80
Salmonella Thphi "H" 1:320
S.Para Typhi "AH" Negative
S.Para Typhi "BH" Negative
Please suggest what the report means. And how soon he can recover

Your husband has positive widal test.He is suffering from typhoid fever.
Single value of salmonella O or H antigen titer values equal or greater than 1: 160 is considered as positive.
However four fold increase in titration is confirmatory.
He should take tablet cefixime 200 mg twice daily for seven days.
For fever,he can take tablet paracetamol 500 mg thrice daily if temperature is > 100 degree Farenheight.
