I had a transvaginal u/s on 3/19/14 which showed my endometrial stripe at 1.0 cm. I ve been having lower pelvic discomfort and feelings of being bloated for the past month. So, on 3/31/14 I had a CT scan of my Abd/Pelvis done. It was fairly normal but showed endometrial thickening up to 2.9 cm. And the Radiologist wrote that they would clinically correlate it to my menstrual cycle.... I m pre-menopausal, 35 years old, and I do have PCOS. I have never taken any birth control or medications for the PCOS. I did just start my period on 4/4/14. However, isn t 2.9 cm pretty thick for my endometrium? Should I follow up with my OBGYN? Am I at an increased risk for endometrial cancer? Should a biopsy be done? I ve had several transvaginal ultrasounds done in the past b/c of a miscarriage and for the diagnosis of PCOS which showed my lining at 4mm, 6mm, and one at 9mm. Thank You!
Endometrail thickness is increased in your case. It need FNAC/Biopsy of endometrium. It should be clinically correlated. Further treatment depend upon clinical findings and biopsy reports. Hope i have answered your query. Get well soon.
