What Does Scanty Menstrual Bleeding Indicate?

I am 41. I started my last period on 12/28/17 and it is still ongoing 1/16/18. It is extremely light. It started with very light brown spotting and these past few days it turned red. I have no pain. No other symptoms. Should I be concerned. Thank you !

Scanty menstrual bleeding may be due to anemia or hormonal abnormalities or polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) or infection or post uterine D and C or ectopic pregnancy etcetera. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
