Hello and welcome to HCM,
The motility of sperms is an important factor to label the sample as normal.
The motility of sperms is divided into three grades- A, B and C.
Grade A includes sperms with rapid progressive motion.
Grade B-sperms with slow progressive motion
Grade C- sperms which are non-progressive.
The grade A and B combined should be atleast 40% and grade A alone should be 32%.
Initially, the grade A and B sperms should be 50%, however, the new WHO criterion considers grade A and B sperms to be atleast 40% for adequacy.
However, the grade A sperms have low motility than the lower limit of normal range.
However, before coming to any conclusion 3
semen analysis needs to be done after 2-3 weeks after abstinence of atleast 3 days.
After getting 3 semen analysis, you can consult an
urologist.
Thanks and take care
