What Does Severe Pain Behind The Left Eye Indicate?

For the past several days, have experienced pain in/behind my left eye, with consistent watering. I have checked the website for possible causes, one of which suggested pinkeye, but I don't have the swelling or crustiness associated. I am 58 years old, male, in good health. Any information would be most helpful.

itcanbe choroiditis or ophthalmoplegia. it can be examined by eye doctor for diagnosis and recomandation of treatment.it is not pink eye.
