What Does Severe Pain In The Abdomen Indicate?

My son is 37 years old and has been having sharp stomach pains periodically the last time was a month ago and the pains lasted for 5 days. Sometimes he has to curl up in a ball. what kind of stomach pain would come and go? Thank you. YYYY@YYYY

1. When the pain comes? and where is the location?
2. What makes the pain worsen?
3. Is any home remedies ever relieve the pain?
4. How about the defecation and urination process? Is there any changes in consistency and frequency?

So many conditions that can cause complaints of severe abdominal pain. The abdomen is composed of skin, muscle, fat and supporting tissues, colon or urinary tract. One of the disorders of those organs can cause abdominal pain complaints. If the pain comes from another area, for example: if the pain comes from the waist that extends into the abdomen; then there may be a disturbance in the urinary tract. If accompanied by defecation impairment then there is a problem in the digestive system. However this disease can be diagnosed through physical examination and investigation.

Therefore, we recommend that your son should conduct further consultation with local surgeon in order to have a thorough physical examination in person.
