Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing pretty sharp stomach pain and sometimes bloating after eating. I haven t been able to pinpoint the food(s) that trigger it but for sure it has happened after eating a handful of nuts and also today, after eating crunchy peanut butter.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It can be a food allergy to certain food or can be a gastric ulcer. For ulcer treatment empirically rabeprazole or pantoprazole can be prescribed for a week. If occurs after eating dairy product than lactose intolerance can be a possibility.
Rule out celiac disease if you have symptoms after eating wheat or related grain like Ryle, oat etcetera. Eat slowly and include more fiber in the diet if above two conditions not present.
Avoid excess spicy foods, smoking and stress. Eat more fruits.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
