What Does Severe Pain In The Feet, Hands And Neck Indicate?

Hello, My daughter is a 34 year old who has extreme pain in her feet (can t wear shoes), hands, neck, and has experienced some numbness in both hands halfway up to her elbows. She has had X-rays of her neck that were negative (she was in an auto accident when she was 16), has had blood work that was negative, has had nerve conduction tests, and has seen a spine therapist who is recommending physical therapy. Her insurance won t pay for an MRI. I don t feel like she is on the way to an answer. What are your ideas?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I can understand your concern regarding to your daughter's health. The most probable cause is a disc herniation of the spinal vertebra, but of course it needs to be confirmed by radiologic images. Wish her good health.
