What Does Severe Pain In The Left Collar Bone Indicate?

When I eat just a baked potato I have no pain but when I eat a bigger meal within 15 minutes I begin to have severe pain in my left collar bone. If I began to burp and get air out a little relief takes place but I have pain for three to four hours before I can get relief. I take anti-acid but it really does not help.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

Your symptoms don't appear to be typical of acid reflux. Still we cant rule it out. Please try the following for one week and report the outcome:

1) Tab. Rabeprazole 20mg to be taken once daily before food for 2 weeks.
2) OMEZ INSTA sachets are very helpful in case of acute pain and burning. One sachet to be emptied in a glass of water and consumed for instant relief. It is not advised in those with calcium or potassium deficiency as it can aggravate it.
3) Consumption of small amounts of food for every 2 hour interval is recommended.
4) Junk foods is to be avoided and fiber rich diet is encouraged.
5) Some drugs like Corticosteroids, NSAIDs (for pain relief) can aggravate the symptoms of peptic ulcer and reflux. So, these are to be avoided or dose reduced to minimum. Even with the above measures, no improvement is noticed. You may need a gastroenterologist consultation for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Hope my answer clarifies your doubts. Any further queries, please let me know. I'm happy to be of any help to you. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
