What Does Severe Pain In The Left Knee Indicate?

Had left knee replaced 11 years ago...keeps popping and for a minute of two, I m immobilized...then I can barely start moving again. My doctor xrayed both knees said both prosthesis are fine, must be soft tissue injury? But this is going on month 3 and still have the popping about every other day and when it happens, very painful, but doesn t stay painful...seems like maybe a tendon or ligament is not right?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a foreign body stuck inside the joint cavity or it can be some ligament or tendon injury. You have to consult an orthopedics and get evaluated. An MRI scan is required to look for any soft tissue injury including tendon injury. As of now you can take analgesics like Tramadol or Acetaminophen for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
