What Does Severe Pain In The Right Thumb Indicate?

I have severe pain and clicking in my right thumb which I believe sounds like trigger thumb . I use a computer every day and therefore can t really stabilize it for long periods of time. What s the best course of action to get immediate relief? Can my regular medical doctor give a steroid shot to my thumb or do I have to go to a specialist?

For steroid shot, you need to consult an Orthopedician. But if that is not helping, then surgical release might be required.
