What Does Severe Pain In The Thighs Indicate?

I have been having severe pain in my lt thigh, sharp, burning and feels like the muscle from the bend of my thigh, on the rt side of thigh down to my knee. Feels as if my muscles or something is being twisted. My primary care has ruled out bursitis. The pain is so severe I have to stomp my feet to try to stop it momentarily.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Burning pain is usually related to abnormal nerve function (called neuropathy).
This can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.

Some of the causes are--(1)diabetes
(2)kidney or liver disease
(3)side effect of medication
(4)low levels of vitamin b12 or folate
(5)thyroid disease
(6)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(7)exposure to toxins
(8)neurological conditions such as ms, stroke
(9)trauma to the nerves
(10)infection such as shingles

Blood tests and imaging of the lower back may be needed

I hope this helps
