Hello, I am a 38-year old woman in good health except for one thing. I ve had chronic pain since childhood that has stumped every doctor I ve ever seen. In elementary school, the pain was in my front thighs. I stopped sleeping. The doctor said it was growing pains and sent me home. At 18, after I had a new doctor, I went again because the pain hadn t gone away. In fact, it had spread to my low back. The doctor said it was muscle strain. They did not do an xray or mri. In my early 20 s the pain was worse. I went to another doctor and they said it might be Restless Leg Syndrome, prescribed me klonopin and send me to a neurologist. The neurologist said it wasn t RLS and suggested it was psychological. I believed it was all in my head until my early 30 s when the pain was so bad in my right hip joint, I thought I had torn or fractured something. The X Ray showed nothing except osteopenia. The MRI showed nothing. I was given an injection in my hip joint. That didn t fix it. Now I m going through a new round of doctors and it s the same old thing. The pain is in both hip joints now and goes all around my hips, pelvis, legs although the right side is so much worse I can barely feel any other pain in my body. The latest ortho PA said it might be bursitis and gave me a shot in my glut. It did nothing. I m desperate. Walking is agony. Driving is impossible. I do not sleep more than an hour at a time. I know that something is wrong with me and I desperately need a doctor to figure this out otherwise I think I ll be crippled by the time I m 40. I already can barely get around. I can t upload my MRI but the Ortho PA didn t see anything. I showed it to my cousin (a radiologist) and he saw FAI on the left hip joint. I m not sure why the PA didn t see anything because I saw it myself. Can you help? Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!!
