What Does Severe Pain In The Upper Abdomen Indicate?
Hello, I suffer from chronic pain due to a digestive disorder for the last 13 years from a gastric surgery that went wrong. I’ve had multiple surgery and suffer from ml-absorption , low iron levels, anemia & dehydration most of the time. Lately, I’ve been having acute pain in my upper abdomen above my belly button that’s sends sharp pain into my back. Now my upper back is tender to the touch as well. The bones & mt whole back just feels ore. I’m not a drinker, smoker or bad eater. I rarely eat anything fatty, and when I do eat, it’s just a few bites. I recently had a body scan and it came back clear. Any thoughts ? Connie
It all depends on what you have had surgery for in the past. If it has not been performed, an ultrasound of your abdomen should be performed to detect any gallstones, and a gastroscopy to identify peptic ulcer disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Anders Mark Christensen
