What Does Severe Pain On The Left Side Of The Waist Indicate?

I am having terrible pain in my left side above my waist. It also goes around to the same place in my back. Do you have any ideas? I have had a total hysterectomy, Gall bladder taken out, thyroid removed, parathyroid removed, back surgery 9 years ago.

Hello,

You are telling left loin pain if I am not wrong. If you are having kidney pain then first get your serum creatinine and blood urea tested. If those two are normal then two other organs left on the same side is spleen and pancreas.

Get serum amylase done, if it is due pancreatitis, it is elevated. if that is also normal then get ultrasound abdomen done. Here any organ can be visualized and they will tell you what is pathological and according to the reports we can treat.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
