What Does Sharp Pain Behind The Right Ear Indicate?

My Husband is getting an extreme sharp pain in his head behind his right ear. It lasts about 20-40 seconds and happens and average of 5 times a day. He has a previous TBI from 13 years ago. A recent CT scan didn t show any changes. A prescription for Magnesium oxide didn t make a difference. What can he do next to help find an answer to the cause?
