General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As there is no nausea or vomiting it can be herpes zoster as vesicles appear after the pain starts. With gastritis there will be nausea and with cardiac diseases there will be discomfort on exertion. So, please visit emergency soon. Also, get assessed for blood pressure and Electrocardiography (ECG).
After tests you may come back to HealthcareMagic. If all tests come normal then it is costochondritis, inflammation of ribs for which you need any anti-inflammatory drug such as tab Aceclofenac for 5 days.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr. Varinder Joshi
