Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Sharp Pain In The Appendix Area Indicate?
My female church friend is experiencing a sharp pain along the right front appendix area and rear area around her right kidney. she has has an appendectomy, gall bladder removed and hysterectomy. she is currently running a high fever. x-rays shows negative as well as mri. blood and urine samples shows all normal. I thought perhaps a kidney stone, urinary tract infection, or perhaps a hernia, my wife stated it might be acid reflux. what do you think??
It cannot be acid reflux and GERD because that is in the upper abdomen. Yes....it can be a sort of kidney infection because of which she is having a high fever. A renal or ureteric stone might be the focus of infection and inflammation. She needs a urinary culture and KUB ultrasound for evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
