What Does Sharp Pain In The Right Heel Indicate?

I am experiencing sharp pain in my right heel. I am on my feet for up to 8-9 hours per day. I bought shoes that had a U shared gel insert in the heel. I had to stop wearing them after 1-1/2 months. Wearing other shoes now does help but now I constantly have pain in my heel

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You need to perform X-ray for your foot, as you might have calcaneal spur or heel spur. You can benefit from the following:-
1- Give your heel enough rest, by avoiding prolonged standing.
2- Apply cold water
3- Use topical medications
4- Use over the counter analgesics
5- Wear comfortable shoes

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
