Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a very sharp pain in my throat(in and around my Adam s apple) when ever I cough, swallow, sneeze, burp and yawn. It s not like a stinging pain it s more like pushing hard on a bruise kind of pain. I just wondered what it could be, I don t particularly feel unwell so I find it a bit strange. Would be great to get some advice.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sharp pain in the throat which seems to be due to sore throat and secondly it can occur due to acid reflux leading to gastroesophageal reflux disease. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. Do slight walk after every meal. You should avoid eating spicy hard and heavy food and take antacid after every meal and keep your elevated while laying down. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for at least a week along with anti inflammatory and analgesic. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist if problem will be related with acid reflux .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
