What Does Sharp Pain On The Right Side Of The Neck Indicate?

I occasionally have a sharp pain in the right side of my neck when turning my head left. Makes it difficult to drive. What kind of doctor should I visit? What tests will be used for diagnostics? It feels like I can t turn more than straight forward. If I back up a little, can then continue as normal. Pinched nerve? Feels muscular.
