What Does Shortness Of Breath After Inhaling Paint Suggest?
I felt a little craft today so I spray painted a few things. I painted them outside and I covered my nose and mouth the first few sprays and then uncovered my face for the rest of the time because I didn t think it would really hurt me. Now about an hour or so after painting, I have a little shortness of breath. Should I be aware of anything serious? Or see a doctor if it persists?
You inhaled paint fumes as you spray painted without using any protection. Presently you are feeling shortness of breath. You should never do paint jobs without protection, stop painting and immediately seek fresh air. Take a bath or have a thorough wash from head to toe with anti-bacterial soap and warm water.
Rinse your eyes with running water, take rest. Take water carefully and slowly and watch if you are comfortable, in case you feel dizzy or light headed, visit ER urgently. You need medical attention. Neglect will cause worsening of the symptoms. You should get clinically examined and stay under observation to detect toxicity. You will be treated accordingly. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
