What Does Slight Twinge With Itching On Top Of Knees Indicate?

I had knee pain in both knees but now its a slight twinge in one knee. I started exercising and it slowly got better and i started going out for walks and it got better. But sometimes there is a slight twinge and a bit of itching on top of my right knees. What could it be?
