What Does Small, Red Area On Right Side Of Breast Suggest?

reddened area on right side of right breast, oval shaped, 2inches by 1 inch, is not swollen, does not itch, first thought it was an insect bite, did not respond to hydrocortisone cream after one week, still there , not sensitive to touch. Noticed it first because of slight itch, no longer itches. Mary age 66

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi

Thd kind of skin lesion you have could be suggestive of either an allergic reaction or an infection .
Since the lesion did not respond to treatment with topical steroids ,so there is a high possibility that the lesion is infective in nature .
You should see a nearby dermatologist so that a proper assessment can be done and treatment can be given accordingly.
