General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do a clinical examination by your Doctor and do few investigations to diagnosis the cause [CBC with differential, ESR, RF test, anti-CCP and X-ray]

2)For pain you can take OTC medication [ibuprofen] and discuss with your Doctor about oral [steroid].

3)Other prescription medications can be tried after investigations only.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -

1)Do exercise regularly. Gentle exercise can help strengthen the muscles around your joints, and it can help fight fatigue you might feel. Check with your doctor before you start exercising. If you're just getting started, begin by taking a walk. Try swimming or gentle water aerobics. Avoid exercising tender, injured or severely inflamed joints.

2)Try to apply heat or cold. Heat can help ease your pain and relax tense, painful muscles. Cold may dull the sensation of pain. Cold also has a numbing effect and decreases muscle spasms.

3)Try to relax. Find ways to cope with pain by reducing stress in your life.

Hope that helps
