What Does Spotting Instead Of Periods Indicate?

I have blood only when I wipe and nothing on my panti liner. I m trying to get pregnant but I feel like something is very wrong. This has been happening often to me, I would say for the past 9 months. I do get a period which leaves blood on my pad but the blood when I wipe then returns a few days after my period sometimes.
