Hello and welcome to HCM, Presence of pus cells in sputum suggests presence of infection and most probably bacterial infection in the respiratory tract. On gram's stain gram positive cocci and gram positive bacilli are detected. These bacteria are normal commensals in the oral cavity.
Thus, presence of these bacteria does not suggest pathogenic bacterial infection.
I would suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and clinical correlation. However, the sputum is free from any malignant or atypical cell.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
