Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
2 months ago I got what I thought was a stiff neck - when it did not dissapate i realized it was the lymph nodes in my neck and under my jaw swelling. Now my ankles are swelling up - they go down when I elevate my feet but not completely . only when i sleep at night . I have limited ability to turn my head from side to side from the lymph nodes ( they are better but not much) and i have a cough now for no reason at all ( yes I smoke but very little and why a cough all of a sudden?) What could be wrong that includes both these things?
Stiff neck may be due to neck muscles spasm or cervical spondylosis or infection or meningitis, etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Aceclofenac and Paracetamol twice a day for five days. Avoid head-end elevation of the bed, if symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
