What Does Sudden Pain In The Hand Indicate?

I recently experienced a sudden pain on the top of my hand. upon inspection I noticed what looked like a new vein, but it looked distressed. when I touched it the pain increased. when I clenched my fist, the pain increased. I finally decided to massage it vigorously, at which point I heard an audible click and felt something release. The pain stopped and didn t return and the vein disappeared. Is this something I should worry about?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You need not to worry about this as a common in may people. The pain is due to vasodilation. due to vasodilation vein becomes prominent. It will become normal automatically. You can take pain killer or apply hot compression. Don't worry, it's normal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
