Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a complete hip reconstruction surgery Nov 16. Since surgery, for the last 7 days my foot/ankle on operative side is swollen right much. I have no pain in calf of leg when pointing toes towards knee. I have iced it and I move it when in a chair. Can you help? Thanks
looks like you have sprained your ankle if it’s not disableing you functionally than just apply ice and take paracetamol, if it’s increasing by the day than you should see an orthopedist and probably need to get an X-ray or Mri to know the tear if there is any
keep you legs elevated on a pillow while you sleep and give your ankle rest and use crep bandage or ankle stocking to reduce the mobility, this should work if your sprain is of minor degree or else you need intervention in grade 3 sprain
regards Dr Raza Ali
